Mock Home Page

Welcome to the updated G.L.O.W. Girls blog.
You will see that there are 6 tabs above: Home; Fellowship; Discipleship; Compassion; Events; The Firefly

These are the main ministry headings under G.L.O.W. Girls.
Under each of these areas you will find more specific ministries, i.e. Bagels and Blessings, Cooking with Pat.

Please take a moment and look over your area of ministry's blog. You will notice I have written a brief idea post on some of the pages, these are tips I have gained over 4 years of serious blogging that I feel would help with the flow of the blog.

My thoughts on what to do with the Home page go here. Please note this page is a mock home page, I didn't want to communicate the technical stuff on our public blog, any changes made here or on any other GLOW Girls blog will effect the "real" blog and "html" code, so please do NOT make any changes or add new posts; however Pat you can continue as normal with Love Serve Connect.

I would love to meet for a brief, 30-45 minute Blog Overview course, where I would sit down and explain the workings of a shared blog as well as offer some posting tips to keep readers engaged. I need to look over my schedule, we could do this as a group or one on one via phone or face to face.

Please e-mail with your ideas/changes/thoughts/whatever regarding your blog. Thanks

How to utilize the Home Page

Starting off it is wise to not update your blog too often. Updating it daily can make it tough for someone to keep up with a blog simply because of time.

I would suggest updating this HOME blog weekly, same day each week, Monday?, and have consistency with the posts.

Suggestion for consistency:
4 weeks in a month
week 1: devotional from the devotional group
week 2: brief devotional, tease for Bagels and Blessings
week 3: missions focus: Senegal, Love/Serve/Connect, youth missions etc
week 4: Something promoting family: seasonal craft idea/internet link/movie review/free local event etc.
week 5: Elizabeth Elliot devotional link *smile*

It wil be wise to have someone who is willing to maintain the blog, resposibilities would be:
-gather necessary info to be posted
-post that info
-edit posts that come in to be published
-the person should have intermediate blog skills

I will pray about maintaining it.
